Fun with words and puzzles - August 2008

Every month we hope to bring you a puzzle or two for those who enjoy crosswords and conundrums.

This month we have ANNOUNCEMENT and WHO IS THE STEEPLE KEEPER?

You can find the answers to the puzzles somewhere within this website - just find the hidden link on a web page.

ANNOUNCEMENT - with special thanks to Angela Newing.

"Nine new bellringers enrolled after the recent article in last week's Advertiser. Youth Club under thirteens took interest. New group takes on Norman's instruction gear here tonight. All leaders are needed".

This looks like a typical notice board announcement, but it has a special message for one of the young ladies in the village.

The question is "What is the message?"

WHO IS THE STEEPLE KEEPER? - with special thanks to Angela Newing.

"David, Norman and Charles are the tower captain, tower secreatry and steeple keeper, (not necessarily in that order), at a certain church. The other three ringers who make up the band are Mr David, Miss Norman and Mr Charles. Mr David is a computer programmer and the tower captain is a teacher at the same school where one of the other ringers also teaches. The ringer whose surname is the same as the tower captain's christian name is a dentist. Miss Norman can only ring rounds at present, but David and the tower secretary rang in a peal of Cambridge Surprise last week."

What is the name of the steeple keeper?
