The Bells (3) 11-2-0#

Access to ringing chamber: - spiral staircase then steps

The following information comes from the Bicester Branch website

All on plain bearings, with wooden headstocks and canons removed. The cast-in crown staples have been cut off but stumps are still embedded.

(Editor’s note: in the photograph below, taken from the branch web site in January 2004, the canons on the treble appear to be still intact.)

There is also a Sanctus bell which still has canons and crown staple.

The Bells are in a 4 bell frame. The empty pit still has original hardwood bearings let into the top cill. The missing bell was removed when the tower clock was installed in the room below.
