Memorials for past Masters of the ODG

In the cloisters of Oxford Cathedral there are several plaques commemorating past masters:

In Nether Winchenden there is a joint memorial to Canon Wigg and Fred Sharpe.

He retired to Wokingham where he is buried. A portrait can be seen on the past masters page.

  Coleridge memorial
Memorial to Canon Coleridge in the Cathedral Cloisters KMC 24 Jul 2004

Coleridge was born in 1857 at Cadbury, Devon and learnt to handle a bell there when he was seventeen. He graduated from Keble College in 1884 and became a curate at Caversham. He was vicar of Crowthorne, Berks from 1904 until his death in 1949.

  Sharpe memorial

A brief obituary of Frederick Sharpe has been summarised from several 'Ringing World' articles.

Following his death a charity, the Sharpe Trustees was set up to preserve the results of his research published in his books.
