Notes:

  1. The original 5 bells dating back to before 1552 were recast and augmented to 6 by Joseph Eayre in 1756, when they were hung in a two tier frame made by local craftsman.
  2. In 1908 they were rehung on one level in a metal frame by Alfred Bowell of Ipswich. Restricted space dictated that they had to swing in one direction.
  3. These “long waisted” bells were provided with unique ‘I’ section headstocks. (Details from a notelet sold by EBSB fund raising.)
