The Bells (6) 7-1-7 Access to ringing chamber: Spiral. One step on a wooden box. 10 stone spiral steps. 10 wooden steps under the back of the church.

The following information comes via Andrew Bull from Chris Pickford for the Bowell archives and from a Taylor job book.
The inscriptions on the third, fifth and tenor are from A.H.Cocks The Church Bells of Buckinghamshire, page 565 whilethe others are from the North Bucks web site Dec 2003

Augmented from four, retuned and rehung in a new steel girder frame by Taylors in 1895. Framework extended by Bowell in 1926.

A ring of 6; tenor 7-1-7, diameter 36¾”.

Notes:

  1. The “N” in “CHANDLER” is reversed on the third, as is the “5” in “1650”.
  2. The word stops on the fifth are all oriented differently.
  3. The “N”s in “KING” and “AMEN” are reversed on the fifth.
