BRANCH OUTING - 2015 - Full details are now available HERE
The Branch Outing is on Saturday the 14th November and the full schedule is detailed here so please try to come along if you can.
A Branch Outing takes place on a Saturday in the middle of each year, often in June. It is normally organised by one of the Branch Officers, although volunteer organisers would be welcomed.
The area visited may be up to 50-60 miles from Reading. Transport is arranged by the participants. Car-sharing is encouraged so that non-drivers may be included, and also to keep parking requirements to a minimum.
The outing is arranged for the benefit and enjoyment of the ringers, and all standards of ringing are catered for. There are usually two towers in the morning, a suitable lunch stop, and 3-4 towers in the afternoon. The towers chosen are mainly 6-bell and 8-bell, with an occasional 10- or 12-bell tower. It is customary for the Branch Ringing Masters to take charge at the morning towers, and for others to be asked to run the ringing at the afternoon towers.
In 2011 the outing will be to the Alton and Petersfiled District. Full details are here.
