Welcome to the Shiplake Ringing Centre
A Ringing Centre is a tower or organisation which is a recognised centre of good practice in the promotion and teaching of bell ringing, the teaching of ringing tutors, and of leadership in bell ringing, and to spreading good practice to other towers.
The Shiplake Ringing Centre is based at St Peter and St Paul in Shiplake and focuses on the ringers from the Reading Branch of the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.
The Centre holds a variety of activities in conjunction with the local branch including monthly advanced 8 bell practices, and training days.
The Centre also teaches students from the adjacent Shiplake College and new recruits from adjacent towers.

A new wooden building (called locally ‘The Ark’ which is adjacent to the Vestry) offers all facilities such as Toilets (Male and Female), catering features and meeting room area.

Ringing Times
The Ringing Centre is available for use by visitors for group training, practices and one-to-one teaching. It may be necessary to use the simulator on some occasions. Demonstration and instruction on its use will be given if necessary. For details contact the Tower Captain.

Transport
The rail station at Shiplake, but it is 1.5 miles from church . It is on the Henley-on-Thames Branch line from Twyford, which in turn is on the Main line from Paddington to Reading. Trains on the branch line are at least hourly. Main line trains to Twyford are more frequent.
Reading bus 28 between Reading and Henley and passes by the end of Church Lane and on weekdays and Saturdays run every 30 mins, (every 60 mins after about 7pm).
The A4155, Henley to Reading road passes the end of Church Lane. Henley is 2 miles and Reading 5 miles. There is adequate parking in the lane near to the church, ample parking near to the Church Hall at the entrance to the lane and at the Plough.

The nearest pubs are the Flowing Spring on the main road to Reading just before Playhatch, The Crown and Shoulder of Mutton at Playhatch and the Baskerville Arms in Lower Shiplake
