We are  thrilled to report that our ODG Youth Team were placed first in the Ringing World National Youth Contest held in Worcester on Saturday 11th September. This makes back to back wins for our youngsters against some stiff competition.

The youth team is made up of young ringers from around the branches and holds monthly practices as preparation for the contest each year.

Many congratulations to this year’s team and I hope the team for next year will be able to make it a hat trick.

Colin Newman

My thanks and admiration go to everyone involved with the success of our Young Ringers.

I feel a bit like a proud grandmother to all the young ringers and immensely grateful to everyone involved with the winning team especially Colin Newman and Jenny Page and including others who play a big part in facilitating and developing young ringers’ talents.   This great result reflects all the hard work that is put into the young ringers, as well as their enthusiasm and dedication.

So from me, a big personal thank you and lots of flag waving, and virtual clapping.  All the ODG members can bask in your success and glory!

Katie Lane
